Part Human, Part Machine But this is no RoboCop.

rofessor Kevin Warwick is the world's first human Cyborg by having a silicon chip transponder surgically implanted in his left arm in 1998.
A Cyborg, or a Cyberbetic Organism, is a human that is part machine. In his quest and desire to be a Cyborg, Warwick used himself as a guinea pig to receive, by surgical operation, technological implants connected to his central nervous system.
A series of further implant experiments linked Warwick's nervous system to a computer. The result - Warwick could operate doors, lights and heaters without lifting even a finger.
The experiment opened a world of possibilties, where by harnessing machine intelligence, humans can upgrade themselves - much like machines. |
